What to expect on your upcoming visit!
We are honored that you have chosen us to provide you with your alternative health
care needs. Our providers offer many different treatment modalities to help your body
and your mind. We wanted to outline that for you so that you could get the most from
your experience!
If you are receiving Chiropractic care, one of our Certified Chiropractic Assistants (CA)
will get you checked in for your appointment. Please remember to bring a form of ID
and your insurance card so we can add those to your file. Our CA will get you to your
room and gather any additional pertinent health history that may not be included in your
paperwork.
Once that is completed, one of our Chiropractors will review history with you and
discuss your goals for your care. Some common goals are pain relief, improving body
function, a specific physical goal you would like to achieve, overall wellness,
rehabilitation of a new or old injury or just overall feeling better in your body! Our
Chiropractors have lots of tools in their tool belts! They will customize the treatment plan
to treat your specific condition to accomplish your specific goals.
Our Chiropractic modalities include:
- Chiropractic Manipulative Therapies – These are specific adjustments of joints to address underlying dysfunction. This is a safe and effective way to treat almost any joint issue. Our Chiropractors are trained to perform an array of adjustments in the spine and extremities that range from no force to high force depending on your comfort level. We are happy to meet you where you are, our number one priority is your comfort!
- Graston Technique – This is a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) that uses specialized stainless-steel instruments to detect and treat scar tissue and fascial restrictions, promoting faster healing and improved mobility.
- Interferential therapy (IFT) – IFT is a non-invasive treatment that uses low-frequency electrical currents to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and improve muscle function. This can also help relax muscles around the affected area/s, so the Chiropractic adjustment is more effective.
- Heat therapy – Heat can be used during your appointment to relieve pain, improve circulation, and promote relaxation before your Chiropracticadjustment.
- Ultrasound - Therapeutic ultrasound is a medical treatment that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce heat and mechanical vibrations in tissues. It is used to treat various musculoskeletal conditions, such as: Muscle pain and spasms, Tendinitis, Bursitis, Soft tissue injuries, and Joint stiffness.
- Active Release Techniques, such as CRAC/MET/Pin and Stretch –Active release techniques are used to improve flexibility of a muscle using dynamic movement patterns while either pinning a muscle or putting the muscle under gentle load. This can elongate the muscle reducing dysfunction, reducing pain and optimizing function.
- Trigger Point Therapy – Our Chiropractors can help reduce pain (evenreferred pain) and improve function by isolating trigger points in theaffected muscle. Trigger point therapy using pressure or cross fiberfriction to move the trigger point that is causing the issue out of themuscle.
- Exercise/Home Care – Our Chiropractors are happy to customize a homecare routine for you that will address your specific issues and optimize your ability to reach your goals on your own. This will also give you the ability to manage your care and let you be in control. Don’t let pain hold you back!
- Massage Therapy and Myofascial release - Our skilled CA/LMTs perform medically necessary Myofascial Release. Myofascial release(MFR) is a manual therapy technique that involves applying gentle pressure to the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and organs. The goal of MFR is to release tension and restrictions in the fascia, which can improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall body function.
plan, so that we can best address your specific issue. Typically, our initial Treatment
Plan is 2-4 visits over the first month of treatment. Treatment frequency greatly
depends on the origin and severity of your condition.
We like to see patients obtain around 50% improvement each visit, so from your 1 st -2 nd
treatment we hope to see 50%, from your 2nd -3rd another 50% of the remaining
improvement (so really 25% improvement of the overall) and so on. Usually, patients
are 85-95% improved by the 3rd or 4th visit. If that occurs after the 4 th visit, we will shift
your treatment plan to “as needed” or “maintenance” care. Some conditions can take
longer to heal. Traumatic muscle injury (such as a car accident), acute or chronic disc
issues or chronic muscle issues can be a slower process. Our providers are happy to
discuss your condition and its prognosis with you!
We are happy to answer any questions that you may have! Feel free to text, email or
call to get in touch with a provider. We look forward to meeting you!
Yours in Health,
Your friendly staff at SHC
