Why use a Far Infrared Sauna?

One of the most important benefits of a sauna is how it can help you relax your mind and body, while providing deep cellular detoxification. Many people in today's fast-paced society to not have an opportunity to sweat much, or prefer not to sweat, seeing it as dirty or gross. However, in fact, the opposite is true.

When you sit in the infrared heat, sweat glands are stimulated to release sweat and begin the process of cleansing your skin by stimulating fat cells to release accumulated debris they have been holding on to. The infrared sauna also stimulates the sebaceous glands to release harmful toxins such as petrochemicals, mercury, and other heavy metals. Many of these chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides are unknown substances to the body, and because they cannot be categorized and used by the body, they are stored in fat cells and tissues, instead of being released as waste.

Infrared heat can greatly benefit sore muscles, aches and soreness in the body. This makes the sauna a great choice for people with sore, tired muscles from injury or athletic sports. The heat helps to encourage circulation, bringing blood to muscles, assisting in their repair.

Note: It is always important to hydrate very well before and after use of a Far Infrared sauna to avoid dehydration and over-heating. Drink plenty of water before and after each session, and get plenty of rest.

FAQ’s

What do I wear in the sauna?
We provide you with a towel that is to be used as a barrier between your body and the wood benches of the sauna at all times. We also provide you with socks to be worn on your feet for the duration of your sauna session. You may wear a bathing suit, shorts, or other clothes you feel comfortable in, if you prefer, however clothing is optional inside the sauna.

Is it private or am I in the sauna with other people?
The sauna is big enough for 4 people, but you will have the room all to yourself unless you book your sauna session for you and another person. We do allow multiple people to use the sauna at the same time, but only if they choose to do so and schedule their appointments that way. If you are scheduled for a session by yourself, there will NOT be any other appointments scheduled for the sauna at that time. The room is kept private for the duration of your sauna session.

How long can I use the sauna?
We schedule most appointments for 1 hour sessions. This does not mean you will be using the sauna for 60 minutes. Our safety requirements for the sauna limit the time of use per session to 50 minutes. This means you will have 50 minutes inside the sauna, 5 minutes before you get in to get ready, and 5 minutes after your session to clean off and collect your belongings. We can also schedule shorter, 30 minute, sessions upon request.

Do you have a shower for cleaning off after a sauna session?
We do not have a shower at our facility, however we do provide you with a wet towel to use for cleanup after your session. We also provide you with some non-toxic fragrant mist, made from water with essential oils, for your use if you like.
